Even ignoring the unpleasant visual impact, surely common sense indicates that the location is just crazy from safety considerations – both road traffic and fumes – and a rethink on those aspects alone is imperative.

Why is it always Horsham that has to suffer? Thousands of houses proposed to be added to the already inadequate infrastructure and now this?

I cannot believe that such an incinerator could ever even be considered in an already heavily populated and soon to be even more peopled part of the UK. We have the pollution from Gatwick with which to contend as it is (although I concede the many benefits which the airport brings to the area as well) and there must be many other more suitable areas within Europe which would be more appropriate. This is NOT NYMBYISM on my part nor am I considering the aesthetic impact of the very tall tower; we already have an overstretched NHS here (try getting an appointment to see a doctor round here) and the additional pollution will have a negative impact on general health. This will bring zero benefit to our area, please do not allow this project to go forward.
